Healthcare Assistant

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
• Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc - training can be provided 
• Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
• Support the nursing team with all aspects of care 
• Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
• Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients
• You will primarily be working within the primary care team, although will be required to carry out duties in the Substance Misuse team.

We are looking for caring, compassionate but also driven professionals who can help us drive our vision for a fair and inclusive healthcare access to all.

• Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate
• Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable! 
• Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting
• Have clinical experience - venepuncture, ECGs etc
• Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
